Purgatory Resort will open this weekend for a bonus weekend of skiing on Saturday and Sunday following nearly a foot of snowfall over the past 48 hours. Purgatory will open for daily operations on Nov. 16, as scheduled.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to offer our guests an extra bonus weekend of early season skiing,\u201d said Dave Rathbun, Purgatory\u2019s General Manager. \u201cOur team is working hard to open for ski season, and we\u2019re off to a great start with Mother Nature\u2019s help. We\u2019re taking full advantage of these early winter conditions to make snow at every opportunity, aiming to have top-to-bottom skiing ready for our official opening day on November 16.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests will upload Purgatory Express Lift 1 and lap Engineer Lift 2 with skiing on Westfork and El Diablo trails. Guests will upload Purgatory Express Lift 1 and lap Engineer Lift 2. Due to early season conditions, skiers and riders will download from the top of Lift 1 to return to the base area. Early season conditions exist, and Purgatory reminds everyone to stay on open trails, keep speed in check, and maintain a safe distance from others on the mountain. Lift tickets are available for $29 and can be purchased online or at the main ticket office at Purgatory Lodge, located in the base area. 2024-25 season passes, including the Power Pass, 12-Day Power Pass and 4-Day Power Pass will be valid. No additional discounts, vouchers, or promotions apply during the bonus weekend. Please visit purgatory.ski<\/p>\n

Lifts will operate from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with limited guest services at the base area, including grilled fare and beer. Please note that no lessons or equipment rentals will be available during this bonus weekend, and on-mountain services will be limited to restrooms only.<\/p>\n

This winter, Purgatory Resort will be open daily from Nov. 16 to April 13 with weekend operations continuing Friday through Sunday until April 27. For more details about Purgatory Resort, including lift tickets, season passes and lodging, visit purgatory.ski.<\/p>\n

Wolf Creek gets over two feet of snow in last week<\/p>\n

Wolf Creek, which is open for daily operations, also received lots of snow last week. The ski area reported 8 inches of fresh snow on Thursday, giving it 22 inches in the past 48 hours and 28 inches for the week.<\/p>\n

The mountain\u2019s all natural snow depth is now 36 inches at the midway, with 73 inches falling at the ski area so far this season.<\/p>\n

The mountain reports skiing conditions are powder\/packed powder with excellent early season conditions. Skiers and riders should still expect unmarked obstacles. Roughly 60% of the mountain is open.<\/p>\n

The Treasure, Bonanza, Tumbler, Lynx and Nova Lifts will be operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alberta, Elma and Charity Jane Lifts will be operating with a delayed opening. The Magic Carpet will be open for the Wolf Pup & Wolf Rider Programs.<\/p>\n
