It cannot be an oblong shape; be sure the logo is square or circle, and any color goes.

Ideally, the design will be “simple.”

“What are we known for?” Holkestad said.

There’s the river, the mountains, the apple trees, even the historic hotel downtown, he said.

“The whole reason we’re doing this is because we didn’t feel we had a good logo that represents our town,” he said.

The logo now was never meant to be permanent; it was made in Clipart, Holkestad said.

There are three artist categories: kids age 8 and under, 8 to 18, and adult.

Of course, there will be one overall winner, and their design will become the new town logo. But there will also be a winner from the youngest division – 8 and under – whose art will be the logo for a month or so, Holkestad said.

“We want to involve kids,” he said.

There’s an entry form on the town website that must be filled out and turned in by Dec. 31.

Drop it off in person at the Dolores Town Hall, 601 Central Ave. Otherwise, email tammy@townofdolores.com with the subject line “Logo” to turn it in remotely.

Logo form.pdf (Download PDF)

Logo form.pdf

[28,29

post-24670","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-headlines","tag-newsletter
["GET
