Jeremiah Hight is suspected of killing a child in Towaoc on Dec. 11. (FBI)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

Jeremiah Hight, the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a child in Towaoc, was arrested at 3:52 p.m. Christmas Eve west of Oljato, Utah, by the Navajo Police Department K-9 unit and the Bureau of Indian Investigation.<\/p>\n

The Navajo Police Department shared news of the arrest on Facebook, saying it started searching for Hight in Oljato on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHight was taken into federal custody without incident,\u201d the post said. \u201cThank you to each law enforcement agency in working collaboratively in keeping our communities safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the \u201carrest and conviction\u201d of the man suspected of shooting and killing a 7-year-old boy in Towaoc on Dec. 11.<\/p>\n

The child, Zamias Lang, was killed in the early morning hours of Dec. 11 in a shooting \u201ctargeted at the residence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hight, 23, was wanted on charges of murder in Indian Country, assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm during and in retaliation to crimes of violence.<\/p>\n

The federal warrant was issued on Dec. 19, and Hight was considered armed and dangerous. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Drug Enforcement, NPD K-9 Unit and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations-Kayenta District.<\/p>\n

Lang was a student in Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1. His funeral was Dec. 18.<\/p>\n
