The 2025 Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest is Saturday, Jan. 18.<\/p>\n

The contest is held every year and funded by the Elks National Foundation. The Cortez contest is hosted by the Cortez Elks, Lodge 1789.<\/p>\n

The hoop shoot will be held at the Cortez Recreation Center, starting at 12:30 p.m., and children ages eight to 13 years old are eligible to participate. Each child\u2019s age group will be determined by their age as of April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

The contest is \u201cthe opportunity to put your name in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame,\u201d according to organizers. Those who place at the top of their age group will advance to the next round of the competition.<\/p>\n
