A sign that we\u2019re headed in the right direction is that the 48th Telluride Jazz Festival on Tuesday announced its artist lineup for this year\u2019s festival, which will be held Aug. 8 to 10 at Telluride Town Park.<\/p>\n<p>Performers will include Kamasi Washington, Trombone Shorty &amp; Orleans Avenue, Karl Denson\u2019s Tiny Universe, Cimafunk, BTTRFLY Quintet, BALTHVS, Kokoroko Parlor Greens and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year, a dynamic mix of inspiring artists full of talent make their way to the Telluride Jazz Festival and this year is no different,\u201d Steve Gumble, festival director, said in a news release Tuesday. \u201cThere\u2019s no bigger name in contemporary jazz than Kamasi Washington. Trombone Shorty &amp; Orleans Avenue is the modern-day torchbearer of New Orleans music and Karl Denson\u2019s Tiny Universe are funk luminaries. Three-day passes, on-site camping passes, Safari Cabanas and more will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.
