Alan Klein (wearing hat) dances with Darcy Levtzow.<br>\n(Matthew Tangeman\/Special to The Journal)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Gear up for a night of music, drinks and community at Mixed in Mancos 2025, Saturday, March 8 at the Mancos Opera House, 136 Grand Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cannual celebration of local music,\u201d hosted by the Mancos Creative District, will boast three Four Corners bands, whose performances will be recorded for release on CD and vinyl.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe craft of songwriting is promoted through the selection of original tunes, and local visual art is featured on the album,\u201d the Mancos Creative District said.<\/p>\n<p>This year, a songwriting panel will form Friday, March 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mancos Commons, 135 Grand Ave.<\/p>\n<p>The panel, which will be hosted by author and Mancos Creative District member Mark Stevens, will utilize the tips, insights and methods to songwriting from this year\u2019s and last year\u2019s featured bands. The panel is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The lineup for March 8 is The Lindells at 6 p.m., Carute Roma at 7:30 p.m. and Tha \u2018Yoties at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The Lindells were described as a \u201cpostapocalyptic folk rock exploration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=e5377db9-c71f-54e0-a3e5-9abfa3b23331&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1106\" height=\"853\" alt=\"Mixed in Mancos 2025 is set to take place at the Mancos Opera House on Saturday, March 8 at 5 p.m. (Journal file photo)\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">Mixed in Mancos 2025 is set to take place at the Mancos Opera House on Saturday, March 8 at 5 p.m. (Journal file photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>\u201cThe Lindells feature intricate guitar lines, melodic vocal harmonies, a powerful rhythm section and complex keyboards. For over four decades, Chris and Kim Lindell have written songs that reveal the many facets of songcraft,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/mancoscreativedistrict.com\/mixed-in-mancos\/\" id=\"link-a6c6e8f43556d141ee2c703f7e6d5429\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mancos Creative District<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>Carute Roma is a combination of classic Roma and multicultural songs with \u201cunique, original tunes.\u201d This high-energy band, which is based in Southwest Colorado, includes the fiddle, accordion, trumpet, guitar, bass and drums paired with vocal harmonies in nine languages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether for 20 years, the founding group of four has doubled in size, growing into a well-rounded and talented band of local musicians,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/mancoscreativedistrict.com\/mixed-in-mancos\/\" id=\"link-f5726e331c71db6237834846ae19e150\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mancos Creative District<\/a> said. \u201cDedicated to bringing joy and smiles wherever they play, Carute Roma gets everyone dancing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tha \u2018Yoties are a reggae\/rock band that combines rock, reggae, ska and metal. The band, based in Flagstaff, is noted also for their impact outside of music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLyrically, their music reflects the historic and contemporary struggles of Native American tribes of the Southwest,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/mancoscreativedistrict.com\/mixed-in-mancos\/\" id=\"link-7209425d9daf8294621b0c08c2118704\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mancos Creative District<\/a> said online. \u201cThrough the universal language of music, Tha \u2018Yoties are howling for the Indigenous people and lands of the Colorado Plateau.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show is open to all ages, but attendees 21 years old and older must have an ID to consume alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Refreshments will be available from Mancos Brewing, Fenceline Cider and Mancos Liquors. Mancos Brewing\u2019s DeWayne Jackson will be \u201ccrafting\u201d a beer just for Mixed in Mancos 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Mixed in Mancos 2024 albums will also be available for purchase at the event.<\/p>\n<p>The event is expected to sell out.
