Cooper Webb tied Ricky Johnson and won his first race in Indianapolis on Saturday during Supercross\u2019s Round 9 of racing. In winning, Webb also lengthened his overall points lead over former leader and second-place rider Chase Sexton.<\/p>\n

During the evening\u2019s main event, Justin Barcia claimed the hole shot, his first hole shot of the 2025 season. Sexton got a difficult start due to a \u201csquirrelly\u201d bike while Ken Roczen got stuck in the pack around the first corner.<\/p>\n

Not long into the race, Webb passed Barcia for the first place position, which he held for the remainder of the race. Justin Cooper raced in third and Sexton in fourth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he wants that championship, he has to ride like this,\u201d commentators said of Webb.<\/p>\n

Sexton moved into second, attempting to chase Webb. Instead, Webb only continued to increase his lead. By the eight-minute mark, Webb\u2019s lead was eight seconds ahead of Sexton.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cooper and Barcia battled for third. Though Barcia briefly held the third place position over Cooper, Cooper passed for third. Soon, Cooper passed Sexton, who appeared to briefly have issues with his bike.<\/p>\n

Webb won for the first time in Indianapolis, followed in second by Sexton, who managed to pass third place Cooper before the finish line.<\/p>\n

In the very eventful heat one, Webb took the hole shot with Justin Hill right on his heels. As they rode through the rough sand section, Webb pulled further ahead of Hill. Joey Savatgy raced in third place.<\/p>\n

With less than five minutes left in the race, Webb crashed in the sand section, which commentators noted had \u201cclaimed a lot of victims\u201d during the evening\u2019s races.<\/p>\n

Hill moved to first, followed by Savatgy and Barcia. Malcolm Stewart also passed Webb before he was able to start racing again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is really going to hurt Cooper Webb,\u201d commentators said.<\/p>\n

Webb fell to seventh place as he attempted to get back into the race.<\/p>\n

Stewart passed Savatgy before chipping at Hill\u2019s lead. Through the sand and rhythm section, Stewart passed Hill for first.<\/p>\n

Barcia moved to second, leading Savatgy and Webb, who quickly passed Hill and Cooper. Cooper crashed in the sand soon after.<\/p>\n

Stewart place first, Barcia second, Savatgy third and Webb fourth.<\/p>\n

The second heat of the 450 began with Aaron Plessinger claiming the hole shot, followed closely by Sexton and Dylan Ferrandis. Sexton passed Plessinger in the sand.<\/p>\n

Roczen and Ferrandis passed Plessinger soon after.<\/p>\n

In the final lap, Sexton led the rest of the field by nearly eight seconds.<\/p>\n

Sexton won the second heat, followed by Roczen in second and Ferrandis in third.<\/p>\n

Round 10 of the 2025 Supercross season will take place on Saturday, March 22 at Protective Stadium inn Birmingham, Alabama.<\/p>\n
