(Screen capture via NBC Motorsports YouTube)

Chase Sexton emerged the victor at the last triple crown of the 2025 Supercross season at Round 10 in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday. While the triple crown win wasn’t enough to surpass overall points leader Cooper Webb, Sexton did lower Webb’s lead.

Out of the three races, Sexton won two and Webb won one. Now, Webb leads the overall with 211 points, only eight points ahead of second place Sexton.

In the first 450SX triple crown, Aaron Plessinger claimed the hole shot to the excitement of the crowd, with Justin Hill in second and Jason Anderson in third. Ken Roczen followed close behind in fourth.

Though Sexton wasn’t in the top part of the pack at the beginning of the race, race commentators noted that he was in a “great spot.”

Webb crashed around the 11:30 mark, but quickly got back up and back into the race, albeit far behind the race leaders. Anderson moved to second and Shane McElrath third, while Sexton lowered McElrath’s lead in fourth. At this point in the race, Webb was in the 18th place position.

Roczen passed McElrath as Webb quickly moved to 15th. Sexton worked on down Anderson, seemingly clipping Anderson’s front tire and causing him to crash.

“He could have passed without doing that,” commentators said of Sexton.

Following Anderson’s crash, Plessinger and Sexton battled for the lead while Webb moved into seventh. Though Plessinger fought to maintain his first place spot, Sexton passed, winning the first race. Plessinger placed second and Stewart third.

Webb placed seventh.

Plessinger claimed the hole shot for the second time in a row at the start of race two. Webb raced in second and Sexton in third. Anderson attempted to pass Sexton, but Sexton was able to hold onto his position.

Sexton moved to second while Anderson raced in third, Malcolm Stewart in fourth and Webb in fifth.

Around the 10-minute mark, Sexton passed Plessinger. Webb moved to fourth behind Stewart in third following a crash involving Anderson.

At the end of the second race, Sexton placed first, Stewart second, Plessinger third and Webb fourth.

In the final race of the evening, Sexton claimed the hole shot.

“It has been Chase Sexton’s night in Birmingham,” commentators said. “Absolutely incredible start.”

As Sexton led the pack, Webb and Barcia raced in second and third, respectively. Webb headed to the inside as if to pass, but pulled out of the attempt. Roczen passed Plessinger and Barcia for third as Webb continued to chase after Sexton.

Soon, Webb passed Sexton for first place as Sexton tried to fight back and hold onto the lead position.

“The top two in the championship are duking it out,” announcers said.

Stewart moved into third.

Heading into the final lap, Webb raced nearly seven seconds ahead of second-place Sexton. Webb won the final race of the triple crown, with Sexton finishing second and Stewart third.

Sexton won the last triple crown of the season overall, followed by Stewart in second and Plessinger in third.

Round 11 of Supercross will take place in Seattle, Washington at Lumen Field on Saturday, March 29.

There is currently no update on when Cortez’s Eli Tomac is expected to resume racing after breaking his leg in Tampa.

2025 450 Supercross Standings1.
