This is an example of a power pole that has yet be retrofitted.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Several buildings lost power about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after a vehicle struck a power pole in the 2800 block of Main Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The outage affected 925 La Plata Electric Association customers, according to the electric co-op.<\/p>\n<p>By 1:50 p.m., power had been restored to all but one customer.<\/p>\n<p>Durango High School, Miller Middle School, the Boys and Girls Club and the Durango Community Recreation Center were among those affected, according to a school district spokeswoman.<\/p>\n<p>The crash also disrupted water service to the recreation center and Miller Middle School.<\/p>\n<p>Power and water services were restored to the schools by 11:13 a.m., with no significant disruption to the school day, the spokeswoman said.
