Cooper Webb became the 2025 Supercross champion, and claimed his third championship title, at the Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday. Though he won the title, Webb placed fourth in the main event behind rival Chase Sexton, Malcolm Stewart and Justin Cooper. Webb only beat Sexton by two points for the title.<\/p>\n

At the start of the main event, Aaron Plessinger claimed the hole shot, with Webb and Sexton riding in second and third. Commentators noted that Webb looked better in the main event than he had in his heat race.<\/p>\n

Webb passed Plessinger on the inside in the whoops section, moving to first. Not long after, Sexton passed Plessinger in the rhythm section after a \u201csmall\u201d mistake made by Plessinger. Soon, Sexton had overtaken Webb for the first place position, leading for the rest of the race.<\/p>\n

Sexton won \u201cway out in front,\u201d clinching his seventh win of the season. Stewart placed second and Cooper third. Webb placed fourth.<\/p>\n

Despite finishing off the podium, Webb was still able to claim the championship title with 365 points. Sexton placed second with 363 points, and Cooper placed third with 281 points after overtaking former third-place owner Ken Roczen, who has been out the last two weeks due to injury.<\/p>\n

In the first heat, Plessinger placed first, followed by Stewart and Cooper. In the second heat, Sexton placed first, followed by Webb and Dean Wilson.<\/p>\n

The Motocross season will kick off its first race on Saturday, May 24, at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, and Eli Tomac fans can also look forward to the racer\u2019s return at the Motocross opening race.<\/p>\n
