(Montezuma Land Conservancy)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Montezuma Land Conservancy will host an apprenticeship program at Fozzie\u2019s Farm this summer, offering young people ages 16 to 24 an opportunity to work outdoors while earning $17 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>The program, which runs 20 hours per week from May to September, focuses on hands-on agricultural work and job preparation skills, aiming to cultivate practical experience and professional growth.<\/p>\n<p>Apprentices will participate in tasks such as irrigation and fencing, and learn best practices for soil health. The program emphasizes the development of skills such as team-building, leadership and career education to help prepare participants for career paths in agriculture or other industries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile farming or ranching experience is welcome, we encourage people of all backgrounds to apply,\u201d Aidan Gaughran, Montezuma Land Conservancy community programs manager, told <em id=\"emphasis-b259a48d2b20631a85cc38de8980822e\">The<\/em> <em id=\"emphasis-3c526d7eb902d889c6890c45114dbb22\">Journal<\/em>. \u201cThe main qualifications we are looking for are interest and willingness to learn. We hope apprentices come out of the program with a new or different perspective on agriculture and the skills to be agile, well-rounded young professionals in a rapidly changing world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applications are due by the end of the day on Wednesday.
