(Mancos School District\/Courtesy photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mancos Elementary School has named Mary Marable as its new principal after a selection process involving a committee of staff, teachers, district leaders and parents.<\/p>\n<p>Marable, one of three finalists, brings over 30 years of educational experience to the role, including positions as an instructional leader, athletic coach, mathematics teacher, professional development director and principal, according to an email from the district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMary Marable is a thoughtful, caring, and focused leader who brings out the best in others,\u201d Superintendent Todd Cordrey told <em id=\"emphasis-90d3e763a95128d71fa533670bf9a53d\">The<\/em> <em id=\"emphasis-24e467a668556504eb4d3b73f5a0a4ed\">Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For the past three years, she has served as a mathematics teacher at Mancos High School.<\/p>\n<p>The district emphasized that the selection of Marable aligns with community priorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe heard from you that you desire your next principal to be a leader who builds strong relationships, supports staff to be their best, holds high expectations and demonstrates leadership with vision, integrity and kindness,\u201d the district said. \u201cIn her thoughtful responses, Dr. Marable shared examples of how she takes a proactive and collaborative approach to leadership. She believes in respectful and open communication between staff, students, teachers and parents alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With more than a decade of instructional leadership experience, she offers extensive expertise to the elementary school\u2019s administration. The district noted that her collaborative approach emphasizes open and respectful communication among staff, students, teachers and parents, aiming to build trust and promote a shared commitment to student belonging, engagement and academic growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to continue to serve the Mancos community as the new elementary principal, and I am excited to collaborate with parents and staff alike for the success of every student,\u201d Marable said.<\/p>\n<p>Marable has begun her transition to Mancos Elementary School.
