(Courtesy photo\/BLM)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>This month, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a series of events, and they are inviting the public to connect with the land and its cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, June 7, at 1 p.m., there will be a special lecture and guided walk at Painted Hand followed by a brew release celebration at WildEdge Brewing Collective at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, June 13, the visitor center will host an evening of live jazz music featuring award-winning pianist and vocalist Chantil Dukart, \u201cblending rhythm, landscape and culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, June 19, Tewa artist, musician and educator Ed Kabotie from Khap\u2019o Owinge (Santa Clara Pueblo) will present Changing Times, sharing lessons of Puebloan resilience through stories and song.<\/p>\n<p>The Four Corners Indigenous Art Market on Wednesday, June 28, will feature Native artists and makers showcasing their works.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the monument has released the new Plants of Canyons of the Ancients field guide, a resource which can be used in identifying native plants across the monument and surrounding areas. The field guide was funded by the LOR Foundation and written by a \u201cdedicated\u201d volunteer.
