(Cameryn Cass\/The Journal)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>A new study shows that Colorado ranks sixth among states with the highest annual average homeowners insurance premium, placing it among the top 10 states across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s ranking fits squarely in Montezuma County, where the affordability of housing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-journal.com\/articles\/manufactured-housing-an-untapped-economic-opportunity-for-southwest-colorado\/\" id=\"link-678fc76ae7b4eb8ea4bcef3975cefaec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remains an ongoing issue<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pete Singleton, owner of 4 Corners Properties in Dolores, was not surprised to learn of the findings.
