(Heidi De Laubenfels\/Courtesy photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Les Schwab Tire Centers celebrated the grand opening of its new Cortez store on June 13, welcoming about 200 community members with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tire donation to the Pi\u00f1on Project and activities for attendees.<\/p>\n<p>The opening event, which was held at the 5,200-square-foot facility at 41 N. Edith St., included a barbecue lunch prepared by a Les Schwab employee, treats from The Pie Maker and free merchandise and gift cards.<\/p>\n<p>The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 11 a.m. after Les Schwab donated tires on the Pi\u00f1on Project\u2019s Chevrolet Express G3500 as part of Pi\u00f1on\u2019s Tires for Purpose program.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=70697ba4-1f9d-52b1-aa7d-f53d30037072&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"961\" height=\"1336\" alt=\"The new business is at 41 N. Edith St. (Heidi De Laubenfels\/Courtesy photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The tires donated to the Pi\u00f1on Project will help the nonprofit continue to transport local youths from their schools to their after-school programs, Friday activities and Summer Youth Program at the Pi\u00f1on Project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to join the Cortez community,\u201d said assistant manager Gabriel Clark. \u201cAt Les Schwab, great service extends to our neighbors.
