(Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Bark Bark Luxury Dog Boutique and Pawtisserie, located at 643B Main Ave., joined the downtown business scene on May 1, and has since been pampering pooches across Durango .<\/p>\n<p>Owner Tracy Campbell is a seasoned business owner, having opened four businesses in town before Bark Bark, but this is her first time dabbling in the luxury dog supplies scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just kept thinking over the last few years how we\u2019re so dog-friendly in Durango, and how great a little dog boutique in downtown would be,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n<p>Bark Bark truly being a boutique \u2013 versus just any old pet store \u2013 matters to Campbell. One of the things that classifies Bark Bark as a boutique, says Campbell, is the specialty gifts, like handmade leashes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI go and search deeply for items and gifts that are really unique, that you wouldn\u2019t find in just your typical pet store,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cI have items that are coming in from Australia, the UK and Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The term \u201cluxury\u201d doesn\u2019t mean that Bark Bark is only accessible to Durango\u2019s wealthiest pet owners; Bark Bark features something for every price point, ranging from dog macaroons for $3 to luxury Pendleton dog beds for $300.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most popular elements of Bark Bark, says Campbell, is the pawtisserie \u2013 the doggie bakery.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell sources some of her treats from bakers out of state, and makes Bark Bark\u2019s custom dog cakes herself out of oatmeal, apple sauce, pumpkin puree and yogurt.<\/p>\n<p>A few new elements will be coming to Bark Bark this summer, including an online Shopify version of the store, and in-store doggie energy readings by Intuitive Animal Communicator Marcie Draheim.<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=0b3f4dad-087f-592b-9875-846d25da3ce3&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1429\" alt=\"Dog cookies sold at Bark Bark Luxury Dog Boutique and Pawtisserie, which recently opened at 643B Main Ave. (Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald)\" class=\"naviga-image\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption><span class=\"caption\">Dog cookies sold at Bark Bark Luxury Dog Boutique and Pawtisserie, which recently opened at 643B Main Ave. (Jerry McBride\/Durango Herald)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">cca<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Draheim will visit the shop on Sunday, Aug. 3, at Bark Bark\u2019s Grand Opening event, and provide \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/marciedraheim.com\/\" id=\"link-70baf2e6ca697c1a31a0fe9e8587cd87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">intuitive energy work<\/a>\u201d and communication services to dogs and their owners. Though Bark Bark has been operating for several months, the business has yet to have an official Grand Opening celebration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarcie does everything, from readings to reiki,\u201d said Campbell. \u201cShe can communicate with pets, and a lot of people reach out to her to try to figure out issues that their pets are having, whether it\u2019s a food issue, or some ailment, or them being timid. Any number of things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" been fun, because people bring their dogs in, and they can literally pick their own treats, whether it\u2019s a toy or a cookie,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dogs seem happy, and people are happy to treat their dogs,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a really fun environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"emphasis-1bb19e5180c7a2c7edd3fa8ba21c8996\"><a
