New Mexico has a lot of roads that need some work. The percentage of state\u2019s roads in acceptable condition dropped from 75% in 2011 to 69% in 2023, according to the state Department of Transportation. Durango Herald File<\/span>du1-i-syn<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

The Colorado Department of Transportation will conduct guardrail repairs today along U.S. highway 160 east of Cortez between mile markers 40 and 44.<\/p>\n

Fifteen-minute delays between Cortez and Mancos are expected 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 29. Repairs will involve multiple sections of damaged guardrails.<\/p>\n

Traffic will be reduced to one lane of alternating flow with speed limits lowered to 40 mph.<\/p>\n

In their news release, CDOT emphasized the importance of staying alert, avoiding distractions such as mobile devices and keeping a safe distance from the vehicle ahead when in the construction zone. Additional safety measures include using headlights for visibility and merging when directed.<\/p>\n

CDOT also urges drivers to adhere to work zone safety guidelines, including obeying the posted speed limits, watching for workers and avoiding unnecessary lane changes.<\/p>\n
