(Courtesy photos)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Dolores RE-4A School District has named Michael Rime and Lia Hopper as its newest board members. They will replace Casey McClellan and Clay Tallmadge, whose board terms expire in November.<\/p>\n<p>Superintendent Alesa Reed said the district canceled the election and appointed the two unopposed candidates by acclamation to save costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe verified the addresses, and everything was in order for both candidates. The board wanted to pursue canceling the election to save the district some money, so we contacted our attorney, and they walked us through the process with the county,\u201d Reed said.<\/p>\n<p>Rime and Hopper join Maegan Crowley, Dustin Goodall and Julia Anderson on the school board.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Michael Rime<\/div>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=63bfd959-c5e2-548d-b48f-c660dc52cebf&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" alt=\"Michael Rime. He earned a Bachelor of General Studies in political science and psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a master\u2019s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. He lives in Dolores with his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Tristan and Keira.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe believes in continuous improvement in education and values the role schools play in shaping the next generation through respect, accountability and open dialogue,\u201d his bio said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Lia Hopper<\/div>\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image naviga-inline-image naviga-align-left alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com\/?uuid=65bb59a0-4697-5269-b94b-ecb569c5565f&amp;function=cover&amp;type=preview&amp;source=false&amp;width=2000\" width=\"1079\" height=\"1244\" alt=\"Lia Hopper. Her family relocated to Dolores in 2023 after her husband retired from the Department of Corrections. She works at Southwest Memorial Hospital in various roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince settling in, I\u2019ve had the privilege of working in various roles at Southwest Memorial Hospital, continuing my passion for serving others through nursing,\u201d Hopper said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe intend to make this our long-term home, and as a mother of two middle schoolers who are actively involved in school activities and sports, I\u2019m deeply invested in the future of our schools and our town,\u201d Hopper continued. \u201cI\u2019m honored to have been selected to serve on the school board, and I\u2019m committed to making a positive impact on key issues that shape our children\u2019s educational experience.
