Farmington police have identified a 51-year-old man from Pueblo, Colorado, as the victim in an aggravated battery case involving two syringes taped to a Walmart toilet seat, with new details emerging.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Sept. 6 in the men\u2019s restroom of the Walmart on East Main Street in Farmington, where the man worked. He was \u201cstabbed\u201d with two syringes taped to a toilet seat.<\/p>\n

He spoke to the Tri-City Record on the condition of anonymity and was identified as John Doe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t use public restrooms anymore,\u201d he said in a telephone interview.<\/p>\n

He said he felt an adrenaline rush and \u201cwas thinking I got injected by an illicit substance \u2026 and was going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201ctwo uncapped syringes with the needle tips pointed upward just above the toilet seat level\u201d were filled with a \u201cpink sediment,\u201d according to the police report.<\/p>\n

Doe said he reported the incident to Walmart employees, but they basically said, \u201cYou\u2019re on your own,\u201d and then asked him what he wanted to do with the syringes.<\/p>\n

Doe collected the syringes and took them to Urgent Care, the report says.<\/p>\n

Police arrived at 4:35 p.m. at Urgent Care to question him and take the syringes into evidence.<\/p>\n

Doe also provided a description of the suspect, who was in the stall before him. He was between 120 and 150 pounds and in his late 20s, and \u201cwas a Hispanic or Native American male wearing a black T-shirt which had a \u2018demonic symbol\u2019 on it,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n

Brittany Yee, a crime scene investigator, swabbed the needle tips and syringes, then emptied the contents into a \u201cglass vial\u201d and tested it, but the test was inconclusive, the report says.<\/p>\n

The collected evidence was sent to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Forensic Laboratory in Santa Fe for further testing.<\/p>\n

Farmington Police are awaiting the test results from the lab, and spokeswoman Shanice Gonzales says she anticipates \u201cit being months before we get any results.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police marked the case as inactive, noting that investigators could not determine how long the syringes had been there.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have reviewed surveillance, but no suspects have been identified as of now,\u201d Gonzales added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did their due diligence,\u201d Doe said, but he was not sure police believed him.<\/p>\n

Police said people should be cautious and inspect public restrooms before use.<\/p>\n

Doe reiterated the warning, saying, \u201cPay attention to your surroundings, people. There\u2019s demons out there everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
