(AP Photo\/David Zalubowski, File)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">(AP Photo\/David Zalubowski, File)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DENVER \u2013 A Colorado woman has been found guilty of voter fraud for casting ballots for both her late ex-husband and son, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Ann Davis, 61, was convicted Wednesday of two counts of forgery and one count of impersonating an elector for submitting mail ballots for them in the 2022 general election. <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/election-2024-voter-fraud-trump-harris-a3b4c2db17217311770259193c115b80\" id=\"link-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Voter fraud<\/a> is generally rare and detectable since the nation\u2019s election processes provide many safeguards, according to current and former election officials.<\/p>\n<p>Voters are required to put their signature on ballots before returning them.<\/p>\n<p>Davis, a Republican, has previously been convicted of forgery and other offenses in Florida and Colorado, a press release from the office of District Attorney George Brauchler said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who seek to corrupt our elections or dilute our votes \u2013 by even a single ballot \u2013 will find a DA\u2019s office intent on their incarceration,&#8221; Brauchler&#8217;s office said.<\/p>\n<p>Davis is represented by a lawyer from the state public defender&#8217;s office, which does not comment on its cases to the media.<\/p>\n<p>Davis will be sentenced on Jan. 9.
