Tyner\u2019s body was found at the Vallecito Creek Trailhead in the 2700 block of County Road 500, he said.<\/p>\n<p>No foul play is suspected. No further details, including cause of death, were made public Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all heartbroken and we offer our deepest condolences to Tammy\u2019s family,\u201d the Women\u2019s Resource Center board of directors told <em id=\"emphasis-a7c14955df728c028e6c2ee968934886\">The Durango<\/em> <em id=\"emphasis-6352dee0cc6426508737e3b0ced8bf29\">Herald<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Tyner\u2019s departure as executive director was announced last week in an email to donors and sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are writing to inform you that Tammy Tyner is no longer employed with the WRC as the Executive Director effective of 11\/5\/2025,\u201d the email said. It was sent the same day and signed by Board President Ashley Truitt.<\/p>\n<p>Tyner worked with the center for nine years.<\/p>\n<p>In interviews earlier this week, the board and Tyner declined to provide a reason for her departure.<\/p>\n<p>Tyner was a longtime Durango resident, with both sides of her family having local roots stretching back five generations, according to Tyner\u2019s WRC biography.<\/p>\n<p>She attended Durango High School and the Colorado School of Mines, and was a former merchant marine, the biography said.
