(AP Photo\/Rebecca Blackwell)<\/span><span class=\"credit\">(AP Photo\/Rebecca Blackwell)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The New Mexico Public Education Department announced high school students can apply for up to 3,000 paid summer internships in 2026, giving them hands-on work experience in careers ranging from health care to technology.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2021, the Summer Enrichment Internship Program will expand under a statewide coalition led by Education at Work, focusing on eight-week internships in high-demand industries identified by the Department of Workforce Solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents from every corner of our state can explore careers, gain hands-on skills and chart a path to a meaningful future,\u201d Public Education Secretary Mariana D.
