(Courtesy photo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eric Morrow, chess columnist for the <em id=\"emphasis-955bccb57c824895ce2c2892de85ce4c\">Tri-City Record, <\/em>on Sunday won the advanced division of the Snowdown chess tournament at the Subterrain art bar in Durango.<\/p>\n<p>A crowd of family, friends and spectators attended as the players competed across three divisions: 13\u2011and\u2011under, 14-plus beginners and 14-plus advanced.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen-year-old Yoval Shaham competed in the advanced division, making it to the finals and placing second to Farmington attorney Morrow, who won after a complex, tactical game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYoval played to my strength, a tactical slugfest.
