Clearnetworx, a fiber internet provider based in Montrose, has started building a new high-speed fiber network in Mancos. The project was announced June 9 and aims to deliver reliable broadband service to Mancos residents and businesses beginning this month.<\/p>\n

The project marks another step in the company\u2019s efforts to expand fiber access across rural areas of the Western Slope, Southwest Colorado and Northern New Mexico.<\/p>\n

Clearnetworx uses local crews to install and support its own networks, primarily focusing on rural and small communities. Its internet provides speeds that are suitable for students, those who work remotely, are running a small business or are looking for faster internet in their homes, it said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to bring fast, reliable fiber internet to some of the smaller communities in our region,\u201d Doug Seacat, president of Clearnetworx, said. \u201cWe love living in rural America and believe where we live shouldn\u2019t limit how we interact with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiber will be installed either underground through conduit or overhead on existing utility poles. Though some Mancos neighborhoods may see signs of active construction for the project, Clearnetworx said crews will ensure that construction areas are left as they were found prior to installation once construction is complete.<\/p>\n
