He know sets his sights on Daytona. (Photo Courtesy Red Bull KTM)

Eli Tomac placed second in Round 7 of the 2026 Supercross season in Arlington on Saturday, holding second overall behind Hunter Lawrence. The Texas race marked the end of the first half of the season.

The next round will take place in Daytona, Florida, where Tomac is “the most winningest” rider.

In the main event, Tomac got caught in the pack as Cooper Webb claimed the hole shot, with Ken Roczen and Lawrence riding on his tail. Roczen passed Webb in the whoops section, holding the lead for almost the entire race.

Tomac moved to ninth behind Malcolm Stewart and Dylan Ferrandis. Soon after, he was in fourth. While Webb and Roczen battled for first, Tomac set his sights on Lawrence, slowly cutting down his lead.

Before Tomac could make a move on Lawrence, Lawrence passed Webb for second.

Hunter and Roczen fought for the lead, going back and forth. They rode side by side over the tables and through the next lap before Lawrence took the lead. Tomac passed Webb and Roczen to move into second place.

“Eli has the eye of the tiger right now,” commentators said.

Lawrence placed first, Tomac second and Webb third.

“Those first laps absolutely saved my race. I had to make some quick moves there and was able to find those openings to pass two‑to‑three riders at a time,” Tomac told KTM after the race. “By lap two or three, I could see the front of the race and thought, ‘I’m OK, I can work with this.’ What a difficult track [it was] tonight. Of course, I fought to the end as much as I could and second is what we had. … We’ll come back swinging in Daytona.”

In the first heat, Roczen took the hole shot ahead of Christian Craig and Jason Anderson. The heat ended with Roczen in first, Anderson in second and Stewart in third.

Lawrence and Joey Savatgy battled out of the gate in Heat 2, but Lawrence claimed the hole shot. Tomac passed Savatgy for second. The two traded spots several times, with Lawrence placing first, Savatgy second and Tomac third.

The next round of Supercross will be held at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Florida.

2025 450SX Supercross point standings

RiderTeamPoints1.
