Park St., Cortez, for a man remanded into custody. He was booked on eight counts of contempt of court.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Thursday, May 21<\/div>\n<p>6:48 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 160 for a report of a lost or stolen firearm. The man reported the Glock 43 had not been seen in four to six months and may have been misplaced or stolen in Cortez or Durango.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Tuesday, May 26<\/div>\n<p>1:35 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 29.1 for a report of assault. The woman reported her boyfriend slapped and punched her during an argument in a shed. Visible bruising to her left eye, mouth and chin was observed. Witnesses corroborated aspects of the incident. An arrest warrant was submitted for the man.<\/p>\n<p>5 p.m.: A deputy responded to reports of lost items at the Baymont Hotel, 2279 Hawkins St. The woman reported leaving her engagement ring and diamond earrings on the TV stand in her room before checking out. Hotel staff found nothing. The earrings were valued at over $3,500 for the earrings with the ring value unknown. Pawn shops were notified.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Thursday, May 28<\/div>\n<p>9:21 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 160 for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. The woman reported mismatched rims and tires and a missing battery on her truck, which had been parked there since 2025. The case was closed as a civil matter.<\/p>\n<p>9:11 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 39, Mancos, for a report of vandalism. The woman discovered 24 broken gates on her irrigation pipes, last seen intact on May 25. She suspected vandalism but had no suspects or cameras. Photos and a value estimate were to be provided.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Friday, May 29<\/div>\n<p>11:21 p.m.: A deputy responded to Highway 160 at mile marker 28 for a car-versus-deer crash. Two vehicles struck the same elk, with heavy damage observed. The Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Sunday, May 31<\/div>\n<p>1:01 p.m.: A deputy responded to assist Cortez police in the 800 block of North Broadway with a possible disturbance that occurred at a residence on South Harrison Street.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Monday, June 1<\/div>\n<p>2:50 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road N. 4 for a dog-at-large complaint. The dog belonging to a neighbor had returned to the property despite a prior warning and citation. A new citation was issued for dog not under control.<\/p>\n<p>4:23 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center for two men transported in with warrants.<\/p>\n<p>3:53 p.m.: A deputy responded to Road CC and Road 14, Pleasant View, for a vehicle crash. A vehicle went off the road, crossed Road 14 and landed in a field after taking down fencing. Colorado State Patrol took over.<\/p>\n<p>5:42 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road N for a structure fire. The fire originated in a shop\/garage, likely at the breaker box area. The owners removed some items before the fire department arrived. The fire was deemed accidental.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Tuesday, June 2<\/div>\n<p>6:16 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 9000 block of Colorado Highway 145 for a traffic stop. The deputy observed open alcohol containers in the vehicle. He was cited for DUI and unsafe lane change and released to a sober party.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Wednesday, June 3<\/div>\n<p>1:53 a.m.: A deputy responded to Love\u2019s Gas Station, 7006 U.S. Hwy. 160, for a business check. The man was arrested on a Texas warrant for fugitive from justice and transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.<\/p>\n<p>7:01 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road N. 4 for a continuing dog-at-large complaint. Photos showed the neighbor\u2019s dog on the complainant\u2019s property. A second citation was issued for dog not under control.<\/p>\n<p>9:01 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 22000 block of Road D, Towaoc area, after a man with a gun report. The man was located after a brief evasion, detained and searched. No gun was found. He was cited for open alcohol container in a vehicle and driving without a valid license after a DUI investigation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Thursday, June 4<\/div>\n<p>6 a.m.: A deputy responded to Road G for a vehicle crash. The man drove off the driveway at Messer Ice Plant, going airborne and landing down an embankment. He reportedly suffered a head injury and was transported by ambulance. No alcohol was found in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>3:09 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center for a woman turning herself in on a warrant.<\/p>\n<p>6:34 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center for a man transported in with warrants.<\/p>\n<p>7:14 p.m.: A deputy responded to Highway 491, Lewis, for a report of threats. The man was arrested on a warrant.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Saturday, June 6<\/div>\n<p>11:21 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 26, Dolores, for a controlled burn investigation after a wildfire. The fire appeared to have started near a corral.<\/p>\n<p>4:01 p.m.: A deputy responded to Road 24 and Road T, Dolores, for a found bicycle. A white Roadmaster bicycle was located in a ditch and submitted into evidence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Sunday, June 7<\/div>\n<p>7:05 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 160 for a brush fire. The man allegedly said he didn\u2019t know about the fire ban.
