What a fine story regarding the Republican Central Committee debate (Journal<\/em><\/a>, May 6). Hugs, kisses and handshakes all around.<\/p>\n

Very little of substance was said, but candidate Rodney Cox was clear on his view of the proposed anti-blight ordinance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as the blight or the rubbish commissioners are talking about, I think it\u2019s a can of worms. Once you get talking about it, you will never get finished,\u201d he said. \u201cI like my tractors. I like them on my land. I see that as growing the government, and I am not a fan of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the can of worms is already open, with land development proponents complaining to commissioners that the nasty messes all over the county impair their ability to sell subdivided lots. Former candidate Shane Prentice claimed those lots could support $500,000 homes if only the county would pay to develop and maintain red-signed roads.<\/p>\n

Hmmm, what\u2019s the agenda, and how will it be funded?<\/p>\n
