Aren Goldstrand, Southwest Artists League member, will display his photography for community viewing at the Cortez Library and the Cortez Cultural Center throughout the month of May. Goldstrand\u2019s photography name is EYE-ON-FOTOS.<\/p>\n

At the Cortez Library, 202 N. Park St., 13 black-and-white photographs can be viewed on the west wall. Nearby at the Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St., three of his bird photographs can be found in the \u201cWinged Horizons\u201d exhibition. SWAL shared that the bird images are that of a juvenile Golden Eagle photographed in a tree outside of Hygiene, a group of starlings in Larimer County and a Red-Tailed Hark near Berthoud.<\/p>\n

Goldstrand, according to a bio provided by the SWAL, is a photojournalist who spends his time traveling in the Western portion of the U.S. In his travels, he photographs people, landscapes and more.<\/p>\n

They added that, through his photography, \u201che shares with his audience a gift for spotting the often overlooked beauty in everyday life. His portraiture captures the soul and spirit of a country and its\u00a0people that are exponentially changing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He recently received the People\u2019s Choice Award in the \u201cSmall Works\u201d show at SunDog Gallery in Mancos for three photographs of the Democratic Mill and Mine near Silverton.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoldstrand\u2019s broad range of subjects vary from breathtaking poetic landscapes to shocking, quirky, disturbing, raw and raunchy unfettered antics of his peers and others,\u201d SWAL said.<\/p>\n
