Main St., is hosting an art show titled \u201cWhen Do I Stop?\u201d featuring works by local artists through Saturday, May 30.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit includes original glasswork; collage; oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings; and textile and multimedia pieces. She shared that she\u2019s often wondered how to decide when it\u2019s time to end certain experiences, activities, thoughts and behaviors, ultimately coming to the conclusion that while some things should stop, other things are meant to last forever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018When Do I Stop?\u2019 came about because, over my lifetime, I noticed that there were many, many experiences and activities, thoughts and behaviors that required me to have to decide to stop. I\u2019m sure the psychology of this could keep someone busy,\u201d Fuller shared. \u201cSome things should be stopped and some things should never stop \u2013 it\u2019s part of navigating life. I think it is wonderful that we have people, places, experiences and things in our lives that we want to hold on to forever \u2026 the opposite is unthinkable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlighted artwork that will be available at the gallery include the mixed-media collage \u201cLoving Frida\u201d by Susan Reed. (Courtesy of Turquoise Raven Gallery)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>\u201cI appreciate her honesty, her ability to display her angst, sadness and frustrations in her work and still find the time to cater to a man who was not always aware of her,\u201d Reed said. \u201cI believe she saw the importance of this great artistic ability, and the creative way she expressed her own dissatisfaction with inequality in the lives of the masses. (She had) a difficult love affair, a difficult life, which she portrayed quite accurately \u2026 and it would not be until much later that her own worth would be celebrated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others included Jeanne Cain\u2019s acrylic painting \u201cLife in the Balance\u201d which showcases \u201cgrounding\u201d and \u201ccalm\u201d through rock and water imagery and \u201cThe Paint Shirt\u201d contributed by Fuller. This piece was created by stitching stained pieces of old work shirts together.<\/p>\n<p>The Turquoise Raven Art Gallery curates fine art from the Four Corners and Mesa Verde region, offering museum-quality works, gifts, supplies and more. It also hosts public classes taught by professional artists.<\/p>\n<p>Exhibits at the gallery rotate each month. The next, \u201cRock Stars of the 60s, 70s and 80s,\u201d will run from June 4-27. The submission deadline is May 30.
