It is about ensuring students have access to a vibrant, well-supported learning environment,” according to the release.

“The recommendation focuses on strengthening the student experience while responsibly addressing financial realities,” the release said.

<img decoding="async" src="https://imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com/?uuid=cf821d15-5389-4d03-8e3e-a2ddf3c29d35&function=cover&type=preview&source=false&width=2000" srcset="https://imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com/?uuid=cf821d15-5389-4d03-8e3e-a2ddf3c29d35&function=cover&type=preview&source=false&width=800 800w, https://imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com/?uuid=cf821d15-5389-4d03-8e3e-a2ddf3c29d35&function=cover&type=preview&source=false&width=1200 1200w, https://imengine.public.prod.dur.navigacloud.com/?uuid=cf821d15-5389-4d03-8e3e-a2ddf3c29d35&function=cover&type=preview&source=false&width=1800 1800w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 2000px" width="1815" height="2167" alt="A second grader raises his hand at Sunnyside Elementary School in 2021.
