The Mancos Town Board of Trustees on April 8 swore in three new members and reappointed several officials.<\/p>\n

The meeting opened with the swearing in of new trustees Ed Hallam, Corey Jabour and Max Loving. Afterward, the trustees heard from two residents during citizen comments.<\/p>\n

The first, Mark Worth, spoke about a 1960 easement between his property and the town, a topic raised again during a March meeting. He asked the town to work with him and his wife to establish a new easement and said he would like the town to help maintain the driveway used by the town.<\/p>\n

He also requested that the trustees follow the intention of the board members who established the easement in 1960.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to work with you. We want to find a solution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Katie McClure asked the trustees when a press release about information discussed at the previous meeting would be sent to the community.<\/p>\n

Following announcements, the trustees reappointed Mayor Pro Tem Brent McWhirter.<\/p>\n

They also reappointed town clerk and treasurer Heather Alvarez, reappointed Marshal Justin Goodall and renewed their contract with town attorney David Liberman at a rate of $215 per hour, an increase of $15 per hour.<\/p>\n

Liquor license renewals were also discussed for the Family Dollar Store, Columbine Inc. and Mancos Liquor LLC.<\/p>\n

After an executive session \u201cfor the purpose of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions\u201d related to the Mancos River diversion, the trustees adjourned the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
