Senior Tristan Adie was the only Bears player with more than one hit, finishing with two hits and two RBIs. A balanced attack helped the Bears bat around in the third inning and take a 10-8 lead into the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Levi Hampton scored twice, and juniors Hayden Lancaster, Orin Samulski and Declan Warren and sophomore Everett Arps each drove in runs.<\/p>\n<p>DHS will take the upcoming week off before facing Nucla on March 31 in the third game of a five-game road trip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Falcon 11, M-CHS 1 (Friday)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>University 8, M-CHS 0 (Saturday)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M-CHS 10, Coal Ridge 8 (Saturday)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a meeting of midsize-school programs, M-CHS (3-4) took one of three games, led by a four-hit performance from senior Cory Carver. The Panthers shortstop drove in two runs on three extra-base hits, while sophomore Brennen Powell added three RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>M-CHS broke open a close game with seven runs in the third and fourth innings and held on against the Titans behind a collective pitching effort from seniors Kallan Wirth and Jaris McDonald, who combined to strike out eight Coal Ridge batters.<\/p>\n<p>The Panthers host Montrose on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. first pitch at McAndrew Field before 10 days away from competition in preparation for the Trent Goscha Tournament in Carbondale on April 2-3.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Track and field<\/div>\n<p>With more than 20 teams competing at the North Fork Invitational ahead of spring break, the Bluejays posted several high finishes in Hotchkiss.<\/p>\n<p>Mancos freshman Tymbri Priestley finished in the top 10 in all four events she competed in, highlighted by third-place finishes in both the 100 meters (13.43 seconds) and the 200 (28.29).
