Southwest Colorado is fortunate to have access to some of the state\u2019s most iconic wilderness areas, including the Weminuche Wilderness area.<\/p>\n<p>Our wilderness areas are sources of inspiration for all kinds of artists. We want to learn what wilderness means to you through original works of poetry in anticipation of the upcoming April visit from the Colorado Poet Laureate, Dave Mason. Send your original poems no later than March 31 to enter the poetry contest and have the chance to win a landscape- inspired prize. Contest categories are ages 6-9, 10-13 and 14-18.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions should be inspired by wild places with a special emphasis on the landscapes of the four corners region. They should inspire and educate our community to honor and protect these places. For more information, contact annebeach@cortezcultural center.org.<\/p>\n<p>Snow (or no) show 2014<\/p>\n<p>The Arts Council\u2019s next show at the Town Gallery will be the 6th Annual Snow Show. All art submitted must be framed and ready to hand \u2013 the theme is snow (or no snow) as the case may be. There are no fees. Just show your favorite winter scene- or any art inspired by winter. Artworks must be turned in to the gallery by Feb. 27, and the show will be hung March 2. It will open at  March 7 with a reception. The show is part of the annual Mancos Melt.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Fresh<\/p>\n<p>Farm Fresh celebrates its 30th anniversary with cover art contest with a cash prize provided by Colorado Creative Industries. Colorado Creative Industries and the Colorado Department of Agriculture announced a cover art contest in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Colorado Farm Fresh Directory, a listing of farms, farmers\u2019 markets, CSAs, u-picks and roadside stands that offer fresh produce and other farm products direct to the consumer. Amateur and professional artists may submit original artwork. The winning entry will be featured on the cover of the 2014 Colorado Farm Fresh Directory and the artist will receive $500 courtesy of Colorado Creative Industries. Entries must relate to Colorado agriculture. Artwork may be created in any medium, but be submitted as digital files. About 110,000 copies of Farm Fresh will be distributed statewide the last week of May. Deadline for entries is March 14, 2014. She and her committee received over 60 applications including painting,  photography,  musicians, dancers and poets.<\/p>\n<p>My dear husband bought us tickets at the Fort Lewis Concert Hall for \u201cAn Evening with Keb\u2019 Mo'\u201d His real name is Kevin Moore, the \u201cKeb Mo\u201d comes from his mother calling him in for dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Also,  Durango Film Festival runs Feb. 26  through March 3.
