DHS (4-3-2, 3-3-2 Southwestern League) didn\u2019t take long to score against Montezuma-Cortez (2-7-2, 1-6-1 SWL), going up 2-0 at halftime and winning by the same score Thursday at the Riverview Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a good feeling not to have a letdown. We felt like when we played them the first time, we had 30 shots on goal and couldn\u2019t score,\u201d Durango head coach Dalon Parker said.<\/p>\n

Lauran Morrissey scored the first goal for the Demons, and Amelia Wigton scored again just five minutes later.<\/p>\n

Montezuma-Cortez had its best chance to score in the final 10 minutes of the first half, but the Demons thwarted any threat.<\/p>\n

Durango goalie Kelly Perry made six saves in the win.<\/p>\n
