Fewer than 200 ballots were cast to decide Tuesday\u2019s election.<\/p>\n

Unofficial results for the election were received about 8 p.m. Tuesday, just one hour after the polls closed. Candidate James Kent Lindsay received the highest number of total votes at 106; Diane Fox, 92 votes; and Sherri Wright, 82 votes. All three will serve a four-year term.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are more than 10,000 registered voters,\u201d said election official Wendy Mimiaga. \u201cWe had a total of 167 ballots that were voted. It was a poor turnout.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mimiaga said a total of 12 ballots remain in the hands of veterans serving overseas. They have eight days to return the ballots.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe election cannot be certified until after that eight-day deadline,\u201d said Mimiaga.<\/p>\n

Losing candidates Jerry Ayers received 70 votes; Larry D. Sharp, 65; and Nick Randall, 56 votes.<\/p>\n
