He previously served on the board in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt a need to get back involved in the community to help better enhance our infrastructure and try and attract more businesses to our town,\u201d Lopez said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez, who is retired, previously worked for the Pinon Project as a supervisor for family advocate programs. He is an active volunteer, helping out with Dolores Visitor\u2019s Center, and as current president of the Dolores High School Reunion club.<\/p>\n<p>For now he is learning the ins and outs of what it takes to manage his favorite town.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m figuring out the process. Right now we are focused on interviewing candidates for the town administrator position,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He does not have a specific agenda for Dolores, but feels improving the tax base and attracting more tourists is always a good plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see any problems that need to be fixed,\u201d Lopez said. \u201cThe board is really stable and I\u2019m looking forward to working with them to make Dolores a better place for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Santiago Lopez has rejoined the Dolores Town Board of Trustees.
