Not only do you get to support a wonderful organization, but you also get yummy pancakes. That is what we call a win-win.<\/p>\n
More music on tap at Dolores River Brewery<\/p>\n
As usual, Mark over at the Dolores River Brewery, finds some amazing bands that stop by and treat locals to great tunes. On Saturday, The Appleseed Collective, a band out of Michigan, treated those at the pub to an eclectic, yet wonderful sound. Don\u2019t miss the multitude of bands that will play this weekend during the second annual Escalante Day sand Nights featuring 10 bands from the Four Corners area including: The Crags, the Porchlights, The Lindells and the Bees Knees. Tickets cost $10.<\/p>\n

The rain has been much appreciated in the area and has fallen quite fast in some areas, causing some of my favorite bike trails to wash out, especially near Phil\u2019s World, east of Cortez.<\/p>\n
Escalante Days: A most wonderful time of the year<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t forget Escalante Days this weekend. One of the busiest and most exciting weekends in Dolores. The Kiddy Parade kicks everything off on Friday, Aug. 8 with lineup at the Dolores General Store starting at 5:30 p.m. with the parade starting at 6 p.m. This is followed by a bike rodeo behind the Dolores Medical Center and ice cream eating contests at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 9, the day is kicked off with a mountain bike race, a parade at 10 a.m., followed by a multitude of contests including arm wrestling, chainsaw, three legged race, water balloon tossing, watermelon eating and much more.
