{"id":117783,"date":"2014-09-17T19:08:43","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T01:08:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/bears-football-team-wins-by-forfeit\/"},"modified":"2014-09-17T19:08:43","modified_gmt":"2014-09-18T01:08:43","slug":"bears-football-team-wins-by-forfeit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/bears-football-team-wins-by-forfeit\/","title":{"rendered":"Bears football team wins by forfeit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a scheduling error by Monument Valley High School, Dolores High School\u2019s latest football game was canceled.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dolores head coach Chris Trusler, the Sept. 12 game was called off after Monument Valley inadvertently scheduled two games on the same day.<\/p>\n<p>Upon realizing its error, Monument Valley decided to forfeit the Dolores game and play against Diamond Ranch Academy. Monument Valley lost to Diamond Ranch 47-6 on Sept. 12.<\/p>\n<p>Concerned that two consecutive weeks off could adversely affect the Bears, Trusler had his team take part in an inter-squad scrimmage Sept. 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt went well,\u201d said Trusler. \u201cIt really gave some of our younger guys an opportunity to get some reps in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Next up for the Bears will be a home matchup against Salida, which boasts a 3-0 record on the season. The game will take place at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(Salida) looks really good on film,\u201d said Trusler. \u201cThey run power football offense.
