The Starbucks is scheduled to open around the middle of November.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Sam Green\/Cortez Journal<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt will be here before you know it,\u201d said City Market Manager Troy Cordell.<\/p>\n<p>When the sheet of plastic is taken down, a Starbucks will be revealed, something that could happen by the second week of November, Cordell said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see progress being made now,\u201d Cordell said. \u201cBut nothing is set in stone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The expected construction finish time will be around the second week of November, but Cordell did caution that time lines are difficult to follow when it comes to construction.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, construction crews are working when the store is closed currently, because they are cutting into the floor to install electric and plumbing, something that is dusty and loud, Cordell said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are trying to work to minimize the impact to (City Market) customers,\u201d Cordell said.<\/p>\n<p>But once the loud work in done, the Starbucks\u2019 kiosks come on trucks and essentially just need to bolt in place.<\/p>\n<p>Cordell couldn\u2019t give specifics, but said that the Cortez Starbucks will be larger than most Starbucks that are inside grocery stores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be different and bigger than most stores inside other stores,\u201d Cordell said.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, City Market is hiring baristas to work at the new store. The employees that work at the new store will be employees of City Market, Cordell said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t have to have experience, but they need to be friendly and dependable,\u201d Cordell said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hanel slides a panel out of the way for construction workers to cut the floor to put in water lines for the new Starbucks in City Market.
