Each ballot must be returned in the envelope that came with it, not the envelope that came with the ballot for another member of the household.<\/p>\n<p>Ballots can be mailed back; allow plenty of time for delivery. Or they can be inserted in 24-hour drop boxes at Bayfield Town Hall or the La Pata County Clerk\u2019s Office at 98 Everett St. south of the Centennial Shopping Center in Durango.<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of other options and times for La Plata County voters to turn in ballots, including Saturdays:<\/p>\n<p>Voter service and polling centers<\/p>\n<p>. Bayfield Town Hall and the La Plata County Clerk\u2019s Office in Durango \u2013 Monday through Friday this week and next, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon; and election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>. La Plata County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Ballot drop-off locations in addition to the 24 hour boxes:<\/p>\n<p>. Ignacio Town Hall on Saturday, Nov. 1, 8 a.m. to noon; Monday, Nov. 3, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; election day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>. County Courthouse weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon; Monday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; election day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>To check your voter registration, go on-line to www.govotecolorado.com.<\/p>\n<p>To register to vote or to update your address if you have moved, go to www.govotecolorado.com; or download an application from www.laplatacountyclerk.org and mail it back to 98 Everett St., suite C, Durango CO 81303; or register in person at the clerk\u2019s office or the county annex in Bayfield Town Hall.<\/p>\n<p>The county clerk\u2019s office has a long list of documents voters can use as their identification to vote, including valid Colorado drivers license or ID card issued by the Colorado Department of Revenue; valid U.S. passport; valid federal, state or local government employee photo ID; FAA pilot\u2019s license; military or veteran\u2019s photo ID; Medicare or Medicaid card; student photo ID from a Colorado institution; and tribal member ID cards.<\/p>\n<p>Contact the clerk\u2019s office for the full list or any other questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contact the county clerk\u2019s office if you haven\u2019t received a ballot in the mail \u2013 for La Plata County call 382-6296; for Archuleta County call 264-8350.
