We were really pleased,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>About 85 to 95 people attended the dinner at the community church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a little busier than usual, but it went wonderful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Christensen said that in the seven or eight years the church has been putting on the community dinner, this year\u2019s was the best.<\/p>\n<p>Bingo raises $940<\/p>\n<p>The Dolores Rotary Club\u2019s Bingo fundraising event set a record last week with $940 \u2013 the highest single total of a Rotary Club Bingo night.<\/p>\n<p>The money will go toward maintenance and replacement of the holiday lights around Dolores, said Dolores Rotary Club President Laurel Rematore.<\/p>\n<p>The group maintains Christmas decorations around town.<\/p>\n<p>Rematore said the group buys and replaces new decorations when they start to get old and faded and that one wreath costs between $600 and $800.<\/p>\n<p>More than 50 people turned out to attend the Bingo night to support the Rotary Club\u2019s light fund.<\/p>\n<p>The Rotary Club is still accepting donations. Contact Shawna Valdez at Dolores State Bank or Rocky Moss at the Dolores Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Snowstorm still far off<\/p>\n<p>The snow situation has still been a bit off this year in Dolores, Cortez and Mancos. Locally, we have seen no more than a skiff of snow. But local ski resorts are reporting a bit of the white stuff. As of Tuesday, Telluride reported getting 4 inches in the last 24 hours and 12 inches in the last 48 hours, bringing this season\u2019s total up to 62 inches.<\/p>\n<p>Telluride will open on Nov. 27.<\/p>\n<p>Durango Mountain Resort reporting a 12-inch base at midway and will open on Nov. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Christmas in Dolores<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m., don\u2019t miss Santa at the Galloping Goose Historical Society Museum. There will be a bonfire at Dolores Town Hall, and Santa will be visiting with kids at the Galloping Goose. There will be candy for the kids, cookies and hot cocoa for all, live music from the Dolores School\u2019s Choral Group under the direction of Beverly Hall, and the opportunity for the town to gather together as a community and celebrate the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have River Talk news to report?
