{"id":116223,"date":"2014-11-27T21:40:57","date_gmt":"2014-11-28T04:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/pd-grocery-offers-free-thanksgiving-dinner\/"},"modified":"2014-11-27T21:40:57","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T04:40:57","slug":"pd-grocery-offers-free-thanksgiving-dinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/pd-grocery-offers-free-thanksgiving-dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"P&#038;D Grocery offers free Thanksgiving dinner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Every time Pete Loyd turned around on Thanksgiving, someone was patting him on the back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to thank you,\u201d said one woman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re welcome,\u201d replied Loyd, smiling.<\/p>\n<p>Owner of the P&amp;D Grocery in Mancos, Loyd prepared 16 25-pound turkeys and 50 pounds of ham for his annual free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. He estimated feeding some 300 people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the 14th year,\u201d explained Loyd. \u201cIt\u2019s gets bigger and bigger every year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some 45 minutes prior to opening at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Loyd said dozens of people were waiting in line.
