The Dolores Rotary Club will sponsor bingo nights for the following beneficiaries on Tuesday evenings. All events will be held at Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave. in Dolores:<\/p>\n
Jan. 27: The Bridge Emergency Shelter<\/p>\n
Feb. 24: Disabled American Veterans<\/p>\n
March 31: Dolores Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization<\/p>\n
April 28: Dolores High School (Ireland trip)<\/p>\n
The evening kicks off with a light supper, for a $5 donation, at 6:30 p.m., with Bingo at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

School board to meet Thursday night<\/p>\n
The Dolores School Board of Education is expected to meet Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. in the District Office board room at 100 N. Sixth Street. Board members are expected to hear an update on assessments and the construction project.<\/p>\n
Board members are also expected to discuss the career fair and library improvements.<\/p>\n
SCCC offers Spanish for professionals<\/p>\n
Southwest Colorado Community College is offering a one-semester Spanish language for medical professionals this spring.<\/p>\n
SCCC designed the curriculum to the needs of a variety of medical professionals including unit clerks, nurse aides, nurses, doctors as well as those in allied health career fields.<\/p>\n
The primary focus of the course will be on vocabulary needed to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.<\/p>\n
The three-credit class will meet Wednesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center.<\/p>\n
The course runs from Jan. 21 to May 13, and is open to the public.<\/p>\n
