{"id":115113,"date":"2015-01-21T19:45:54","date_gmt":"2015-01-22T02:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/short-film-festival-opens-friday-in-dolores\/"},"modified":"2015-01-21T19:45:54","modified_gmt":"2015-01-22T02:45:54","slug":"short-film-festival-opens-friday-in-dolores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/short-film-festival-opens-friday-in-dolores\/","title":{"rendered":"Short-film festival opens Friday in Dolores"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you love the outdoors or just need a little inspiration to get out there, then the fourth Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival, a fundraiser for the Montezuma County Land Conservancy, might be just the place for you.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place this Friday at the Dolores Community Center and will feature a lineup of short, inspirational films.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a really good lineup. We have a lot of fun films and a lot of inspirational ones,\u201d said Molly Fales, conservation director with the Montezuma County Land Conservancy.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen 14 films will be played Friday, totaling about two hours worth of movies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a mix of outdoor and conservation films and two ski movies,\u201d Fales said. \u201cMost of the movies are four or five minutes long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There will be a 30-minute intermission during the movies to give away door prizes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are quick, fun movies,\u201d Fales said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the movies include: \u201cJoy of Air,\u201d a movie that showcases people hitting ski and bike jumps; \u201cInto the Mind,\u201d a ski movie; \u201cTahoe Time 1.5,\u201d a movie showcasing pretty scenery from Tahoe; a fishing movie about catching steelhead on the northwest; and a film about a man from Buena Vista talking about survival skills.<\/p>\n<p>Also at the event will be a pie auction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pies are always really popular,\u201d Fales said.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth year the Montezuma County Land Conservancy has hosted the Wild and Scenic Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a very family-friendly, kid-friendly event,\u201d Fales said.<\/p>\n<p>Money goes to support Land Conservancy, an organization that preserves open space and agricultural land in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Those older than 21 years old can enjoy free beer courtesy of Dolores River Brewery with the cost of entry.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner food will be for sale, and other refreshments will be available and sold by the Dolores Secondary Parent Teacher Organization.<\/p>\n<p>The PTO will be serving crock pot meals, bread and coffee. The cost for dinner is $5 for all you can eat soup\/stew and bread, and $1 for a cup of coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Baked goods will be available for a donation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-scoreboard\">\n<h4 class=\"scoreboard-title\">Wild and Scenic Film Festival<\/h4>\n<p>When: Friday, Jan. 23.
