An advisory council helps the agency carry out its stewardship of 245 million acres of public lands.<\/p>\n

The BLM, which manages more land than any other federal agency, has 31 advisory councils across the West, where most of the agency\u2019s holdings are located.<\/p>\n

Each council is made up of 10 to 15 people such as conservationists, ranchers, tribal members, recreationalists, and federal and state officials.<\/p>\n
