With the warm weather, it\u2019s the earliest the course has been able to open.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Sam Green\/Cortez Journal<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>The Conquistador Golf Course opened up last weekend, its earliest opening ever.<\/p>\n<p>The golf course had a rush of golfers eager to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather after the course opened Feb. 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith 60-degree weather, what do you do?\u201d said Dean Palmquist, director of Cortez Parks and Recreation.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of the golf course is about five weeks ahead of schedule. It usually opens by March 15.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have had really good turnout,\u201d Palmquist said.<\/p>\n<p>Record-breaking temperatures and lack of snow have been a boon to golfers.
