Students are gearing up from one of their biggest reading days of the year next week.<\/p>\n
March 2 is Dr. Seuss\u2019 birthday, and it is National Read Across America Day. Mancos plans to celebrate in style.<\/p>\n
March 2 is a favorite among students and the Mancos Elementary staff. The entire day will be dedicated to reading and celebrating Dr. Seuss\u2019 birthday.<\/p>\n
Celebrations will be Dr. Seuss-style, including a lunch of green eggs and ham.<\/p>\n
The entire community is asked to grab a favorite book and join the Mancos School District at 8:30 a.m. in front of the school to begin the day with a community-wide \u201cRead Across Mancos\u201d celebration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we take some time to read out in front of the school as a community, don\u2019t be surprised if you leave saying, \u2018And to think that I saw it on Grand Avenue,'\u201d said teacher Elizabeth Eschallier.<\/p>\n
Families are encouraged to spend the day at the school enjoying the Book Fair, listening to stories read by Thing 1, watching drama presentations from the Middle School, and having a scrumptious lunch of green eggs and ham.<\/p>\n
The celebration will continue into the evening during with Snuggle Up and Read from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
