Dolores cross-country runners laced up for their first race of the season on Wednesday at the Loyd\u2019s Lake Classic at Monticello.<\/p>\n
Head coach Nick Kohler said that being the team\u2019s first meet, he was pleased with the results.<\/p>\n
Tyler Cutrone stood out for the middle school team, placing third out of 104 competitors and improving his time from last year by over a minute.<\/p>\n
Zander Eichner and Tim Wyman also ran well for the younger squad, finishing 15th and 20th.<\/p>\n
Maya Lamunyon was the lone middle school girl runner, and her finishing time was nearly two minutes faster than last year, earning her a 71st-place finish.<\/p>\n
The high school group also impressed Kohler, with senior Teegan Hite finishing in 5th in her first ever cross-country race for the Bears.<\/p>\n
The boys team was led by a trio of freshman, Brennan Hite, Phillip Hufman and Cael McHenry.<\/p>\n
Hite placed 17th (19:40), Hufman in 24th (20:09) and McHenry 38th (21:24).<\/p>\n
\u201cI was very pleased with our varsity boys,\u201d Kohler said in an e-mail on Monday. \u201cAs I had hoped, the three freshman ran great.\u201d<\/p>\n
