I don\u2019t know where they are, I just know that we have them, and sometimes it\u2019s so annoying that I really am not able to sleep,\u201d said Mancos resident Mary Wilson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think that it\u2019s worth calling the marshal for, saying, \u2018There\u2019s a dog barking somewhere. I don\u2019t know where it is, but it\u2019s annoying me,'\u201dWilson said.<\/p>\n<p>Resident Sharon Rosenbaum also mentioned an uptick in canine-related noise, and said it ruins the peace and quiet that many treasure in a small, rural town like Mancos.<\/p>\n<p>Cox said that barking dogs do fall under the \u201cexcessive noise\u201d section of the town\u2019s municipal code, though his office has gotten very few calls on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past two months, I can\u2019t remember one that I\u2019ve seen. If there\u2019s dogs barking, even if it\u2019s in the middle of the night. Well, call us,\u201d said Cox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s only three of us, so we can\u2019t respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know what you\u2019re talking about,\u201d Cox added. \u201cI live right behind the bank, and I hear dogs barking occasionally. If you\u2019ve got a complaint like that, call us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The town of Mancos posted a note on its Facebook page to remind pet owners to be mindful of the noise ordinance, and keep their barkers quiet.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post reads:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe town has been receiving more complaints than usual about barking dogs.
