The Dolores volleyball team improved its record to 3-1 after a win at Dove Creek last Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Bears dispatched the Bulldogs 25-19 in the first game, and freshman Aryelle Wright put the stamp on game two with a spike to win 25-16.<\/p>\n
\u201cTatum Majors had a couple of good serve streaks that helped us get some leads in game on and game two,\u201d head coach Gina Hollen said.<\/p>\n
The third game of the evening was a much tighter affair. At one point, Dolores led 19-13, but Dove Creek mounted a comeback to tie the game at 22.<\/p>\n
The game continued back-and-forth into extra points, but key blocks by senior Larissa Umberger helped the Bears escape with a 26-24 victory to take the match in three games.<\/p>\n
\u201cControlling our passes was huge,\u201d Hollen said. \u201cAnd they\u2019re starting to gel a little bit and trust each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
